Hi I have a 13" MacBook Pro. I run an hdmi from the laptop to a tv (via an adapter) and then I have a cord from the headphone jack to the tv audio in to get sound through the tv. Everything has worked fine for months but all of a sudden the sound stopped coming through the TV. If I unplug the cord from the computer I get sound from the laptop. Plug it in and I get no sound from laptop or TV. Any thoughts?

Do headphones work?

When you open Sound preferences with the TV connected and on, what options are there?

Select a device for sound output: the option is Headphones, and yes regular headphones work.

Then it's time to verify the cable is working and re-check the setup on the TV side.
