I have this annoying issue with firefox each time I exit firefox either with the menu buttons firefox then quit or with command q firefox stops responding for at least five or more seconds and the cpu usage goes up more than 70 percent then it says firefox not responding. I then have to force quit firefox sometimes. The temp also rises when firefox does not respond.

Firefox is known for having some issues using up lots of the CPU / RAM. Have you tried clearing the cache / web history and such? If you have and the issue persists, I would try Chrome or another browser and see if the issue persists.

Yea, exactly. FF is known for doing this.

An old image, but it still persists to this day. Just a flaw of FF.
Try what I suggested.

Every version of FF has had this issue. Hence why I switched to Chrome.

Opened FF, let it sit 30 seconds to open everything.
Chrome has been opened for 4+ hours, 4 tabs with FB chat open. 1/10 the CPU usage although double the mem usage, but it has 4x going on.
