I have a late 2008 MACbook unibody (aluminum A1278). Currently it has 2GB RAM and a 160GB hard drive. How would you upgrade it? I have $300. Thanks

Do you need any upgrades?
Do you need a bigger hard drive or a faster hard drive?
Do you need more RAM?
Can you just save the money and use it toward a future purchase?

Don't ask other people how to spend your money. If you need the upgrades, get them. If not, save your money.

good points, I have about 40Gb left on my HD, but am paranoid about filling it up. I do some small scale video editing and was just wondering how much beefier I could make it. Would I notice a difference between 2 and 4Gb or RAM?

1) I am an idiot and it should have been ADVICE, and MacBook.
2) good luck at BMT I am an AF E-7 of 12 almost 13 years

Well for about $100 you can get a good external hard drive which is something you should definitely have if you don't already.
How much RAM do you currently use up? Just watch your Activity Monitor and see if you ever come close to using all 2gb. If you do, yes you would see a difference with 4gb. A 4gb kit costs around $50. So for about $150 you could get an external and more RAM then save the other $150 for a future purchase.
