iBook G4 Won't Power On

My older iBook G4 had a DC-in board problem (shorting out)..so I ordered a new one and replaced it. Now the laptop is not turning on. Any suggestions? I'd like to get my data off it, but don't care to invest much into it.

The main thing I want is the data...if it were working I'd be happy to still have it around. When I replaced the dc-in board I expected it to fire right up as it had dc-input problems for some time before it completely died and I ordered a new one and popped it in.

If you cant get it to fire up again, then pop the hard disk into an external 3.5" drive and connect it to another mac.

If the User home folder have different names, then it it easy to bring the old User account(s) back using migration assistent

Instead of a carrier, buy one of these. Very handy and can be used for other types of drives in addition to the one from your iBook.
