Hi,
since last week, my MBP began to do this. The screen flickers to black, I hear the Hard Drives shut down (clik), the fans stops and the standby light on the front lights up steady, I wait and nothing.. I have to press the power for 5 seconds so it will shut down. I tried the flush of the pram (boot with optio, command, p, r) and same thing... I tested the memory with tech tool pro for 1:30 hour, no problem. I tested the system too, same thing. My mac is approaching the 1 year, would I be better getting a Apple Care? Also, I have 2 hard drives in it since the first week I bought it (with MCE Optibay adapter), would the Apple Care be useless? Thanks |

If your MBP is not yet one year old (from date of purchase), now is the time to make an appointment with your local Apple store genius and have it looked at while it's still under warranty. Buying apple care is up to you, however. It's possible to purchase apple care at a discount from Amazon and other authorized resellers. Do not buy it from eBay.

All that's telling you is that the machine is being improperly shut down. Which of course will occur if something is causing that to happen without you doing it. As I replied to you previously, time to take it in to Apple and have it looked at before your warranty expires.
