I have PB G4 1.5GHz OS 10.5.8

I can't seem to choose audio line-in via the 1/8' line jack. Sound preferences
only offer the built in microphone.
I want to record via the line-in. Anyone have this problem?
QUOTE Thanks

You can't select an alternative source until it's actually plugged in to the line in socket. Maybe that's the issue?

Thanks. Actually plugging something doesn't help. I had tried that.
Only the "internal microphone - Built-in Audio" is offered. There is no other choice though the PB has the Audio In jack.
