Battery issue...

Can anyone tell me how I know if the problem I have charging my macbook is due to:

the age of the battery
or
the battery charger itself.

Last night I came home and the battery was fully charged and the charger light on green.

later when I needed to recharge the light did not come on the charger.

Tried again today and I got a brief green light(about 1 second) then nothing at all.

The Macbook is now several years old. I don't want to buy a new battery and find the problem is the charger.

Any ideas?

Apologies if this is a repeat post, I looked back a few pages but didn't see this problem.

Could be either one. Download the free Cocoanut Battery application and post a screenshot of what it tells you. That may give us some idea.
