do you think i should sell my old ibook (the one without the 512 ram and HD lock)? i have some spare cash like around 200 dollars and wondering if i should. advice would be nice! the only reason i want it is because if i bring my ibook to school and accidentally drop it i dont want my HD to get scratched (plus it seems like a better deal then when i got it may 30th)

It really depends on how much extra cash you would have to put into a new iBook. I wouldn't want to spend a lot.

The upgrade did not make me sorry I bought. I had already upgrade the ram and 30 gigs is enough. The hard drive stop would be nice, but not enough to make my take a loss on the sale and by new. (However the mini is lookin good)

Does anyone know if the HD protection in the Apple line is as touchy as in the IBM laptops? I turned it off on my IBM laptop because if I bumped the laptop the HD would spin down and I would have to wait for it to unlock before I could continue using it.

The point here being that the HD protection might not be enough of a reason to upgrade so soon after buying a new iBook.
QUOTE Thanks
