I apologize if this has been hashed and re-hashed again....

I was using my Mac laptop when I got the popup stating my battery was dieing. At first I was like what the? because my powercord is plugged in. So I unplugged the cord and plugged back in. The battery symbol now had the little lightning bolt in it like it was taking a charge. In a matter of seconds the bolt disappeared and had the symbol of a dead battery (very thin red line) and powered off. Now I can't get any response from the laptop at all. It will not even attempt to turn on even with the power cord plugged in. The powercord does light up green where it connects to the laptop. I took the battery out and put it back in....maybe it had a bad connection? No luck there.

I did notice at times, the laptop gettting extremely hot in the area where the powercord plugs in....not sure if that is significant or not.

Any help would be great

Thanks in advance!

First, try running your MacBook with the battery completely removed. If it works OK, you may have a bad battery; if not, it's possible the MagSafe Adapter may be defective. Try a new one. If that also doesn't help, post back and we'll go from there.
