If there is a new ibook coming out very soon, does anyone know if Apple has any purchase protection programs in place?

What I mean by this is, I bought a new ibook last wednesday, if Apple comes out with a new model with a given time period, can I upgrade it to the new model without doing a return/new purchase?

As you know by now, they did come out with an upgraded one today. When I called my local apple store last week, they told me to wait to buy one because they were expecting the ibooks to upgrade. If I bought one last week and they upgrade this week (like they did) they couldn't do anything for me.
I don't know if that's the same all over.

So guess what...they did release the new ibook today after I just bought one yesterday....luckily I called up my local apple store and they're gonna swap mine for me...good thing too...the new one has a better processor, more RAM and a bigger hard drive....makes my new ibook better than my old hp laptop in hard drive size....
