hi guys,
i recently tried to upgrade my macbook and faced the same problems like this:

Resuming:
the macbook can't boot with memories that aren't really 667.
Although the memory modules that i bought was labeled 667 (kingstone KVR667D2N5/2G), my macbook can't boot when i use both new modules.
It only work when i use one of my old 1GB module that came with the macbook. This old module "forces" the new module to the 667 frequency.
Searching on the internet I found that kingstone and other manufactures label 800 as 667.
In that search I didnt find any solution to that problem.
Someone else have experienced that and came with an answer?

I would return the memory for a refund and buy from either Crucial or OWC.

Your machine needs to have 2 each 200 pin PC2-5300, 667 MHz DDR2 SO-DIMM

Faster memory may not work or if it does, might be erratic. The bottom line is to buy good memory of the correct type. Here's the LINK to OWC memory for your machine. ($85.99 for 2 modules of 2 GB each)

Coming from a PC - you could do this - just get whatever RAM and plug it in - decrease the clock so it worked. Macs are much more picky about their RAM. What you probably got was a 800 RAM - that failed some test and works at 667 - so they sell it as such.

I am seconding chscag - return the RAM and go to a dealer that says their RAM is for the Mac. I just got 8GB of nuram from OWC - it has been working great - and it is cheap. Here is OWC ram for 4,1 MB

I´ll try to return the memory.
It is very difficult to find 667 memory for notebook here in Brazil.
Can i buy this OWC without any worry?

OWC is a reputable company that has been around since 1988. As I said I nuram from them just 2 weeks ago. The Ram is in my MBP and is running great.
