Hi,
I am currently considering buying a moshi palmguard for my Macbook Pro 13". What I want to know is whether it is worth buying? Is the aluminium palm area likely to become discoloured? Is the palmguard noticeable on the MBP? How many users currently use this or something similar? Thanks. |

Got mine in I think 2007 well when ever it was it was the week they brought out the uni body design. Never had any discolouration or even known that palmguards exist lol
So i'd say don't get one Thanks, Eddie Software Engineering Student, NTU |

Here are two things you should know about the moshi palm guard:
1. (Major problem after prolonged use) The unibody screen's aluminum frame will bend if the rubber rim touches the mashi material(over time). It's not really noticeable, but it's still a slight bend. 2. Because the moshi material is thicker than most, if you have oily hands, the stuff will be easier to transfer onto the screen. This is usually happens when the screen is pressed down while it's already closed. It's REAL annoying when you place your mbp inside a computer bag while also having books in it. That's what frustrates me the most, because you can literally trim the moshi to prevent the problem to #1, but the screen...can't figure that out yet(without having to place something between the screen/moshi). These problems are associated with first gen guards, there is a second gen(the one that covers the whole bottom with a single piece, and trackpad cover). The second gen is a bit thinner, and can accommodate the difference mbp's rubber sealant's height, and I haven't read any problems with the bending issue of the last one.The color matches perfectly though! good luck!
