Hey guys,
I am trying to get a new external hard drive and know that I can go with Firewire 400 or 800 on my MBP but I was wondering if someone could tell me if I have an esata port... I am not sure what they look like. I have the MacBook Pro (not the unibody new one but the older gen). Its the 2.2 Core 2 Duo 15inch... Let me know if you need more specs to verify which model and if it has esata... |

Nope. No ESATA on any Mac model that I'm aware of. But certainly not on your MacBook Pro.
Go with a FW800-equipped external HDD. Chances are you will not saturate the bus anyway. Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics! |

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth. In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus. Place your vote for our Member of the Month |

It's like traffic on the freeway. More cars (data) = slower speeds (saturation) after a certain point. The point of saturation depends on how wide the highway (interface) is.
