Hey, there isnt a HD Icon when I try to reinstall OS X Leopard on my MBP. I was troubled by the folder questionmark thing as well as the restart grey screen. I finally got the thing to get passed the grey screen and now I dont have the HD icon to try and reinstall. It took me forever to get to the screen. I have the disk in a and everything but Disk Utility has no where for me to reinstall the disk. What do I do?

Welcome to the Mac Forums.

It sounds like the hard drive has failed. Let's try this:

Boot your MBP with the original Leopard DVD that came with the machine. When you hear the POST chime, hold down the C key and keep holding it until you see the Apple. After the machine boots from the DVD (takes a while) click on the top menu "Utilities" and then select "Disk Utility". Highlight the drive on the left side (top item) and then select Verify and Repair from the First Aid tab on the right. Let us know the results of that test.

(If the hard drive can not be seen at all after you boot with the DVD, the drive is probably defective.)
