Line on screen

My G4 macBook has developed a thin vertical yellow line about quarter of an inch from the RH side which is there at all times. Is this a permanent LCD problem or what else might cause it?

The graphics card, logic board or inverter might be to blame.

A friend of mine has the issue on his iMac (17" Intel) and the lines have multiplied.
I advised him to contact Apple and ask about fixing it, because it was a known issue on some models, and low and behold they are fixing it for free.
Worth a try, but as was said, it's one of the 3 above.
