Alu Unibody Macbook Upgrade

Recently ive decided that i need to upgrade my unibody macbooks memory up from 2GB. I live in europe and figured that its best to order from OWC as its cheaper than Crucial. But the real question i wanted to ask was : is it worth paying the extra 40 or 50 euros to get the 6GB set rather than the 4 GB set. My needs dont exceed using photoshop/aperture, and the occasional steam game. So is the money worth the gain? Or will i see none ?

That's really up to you. If you think you're going to keep the machine for a while and may want to play more memory intensive games or for other apps, then buy the 6 GB package. More memory is always better than not having enough.

Considering that i have the C2D 2.0 GHz model, is there any application that would be able to run that would actually use those 6 GB of ram ? Because if there isn't, then i guess theres really no point in ordering more than 4 GB. Oh, and by the way, wanted to ask, is there a difference in speed if theres 2 x 2 GB setup or just one 4 GB ram stick ?

I don't know of any apps off hand that could suck up all 6 GB of memory. Not even apps like Photoshop or Quark are that memory intensive. I suppose if you loaded Parallels or Fusion and had several VMs running at the same time, you could use that much memory, but that's unusual usage.

As far as loading the modules are concerned, it's always better to allow for dual channel paths - which means it's better to have two modules of 2 GB rather than one of 4 GB. (faster access)
