So i just got a 13in new macbook pro about 3 weeks ago and i have some questions about the battery. They claim that it is suppose to last 10 hours but I dont think im getting 10 hours per charge.

Also for the battery icon i have it set to display the hours left on the battery and it seems to fluctuate way too much. Sometimes im at like 90% battery life and it says 5hrs and other times it says like 10hrs (im just browsing the internet in both scenarios). I have the display brightness set like half way and im not doing something that i think would take demand a lot of battery.

BTW does using the web cam use a lot of battery?
--also i have calibrated the battery by following the instructions on the apple web site

10 hours is under minimal settings
like 10% brightness and almost everything off except for wifi

the battery time indicator fluctuates A LOT depending on the processes running
that includes the webcam

watching and flash video or even visiting a web page with flash ads will drop your battery life by quite a bit, it's completely normal

don't worry about these fluctuations
