Hi,

I own a MBP 13" and I am living in Germany.

Here the applecare costs around 249 Euros. But in amazon.com (USA) it costs around 190 $.

So I am planning to order it and ship it to a friend who is living there in USA.

My doubt is whether I can use that applecare here in Germany and if yes, are there any disadvantages?

Thanks,
Ramsundar

I'm not so sure it's going to be valid in another country. Since it's an extended warranty and I'm sure the responsibilities and rights vary wildly based on various national laws, I'm thinking it won't work.

You can always call Apple though to verify.

Apple generally does not honour AppleCare that is purchased in a different country than the machine, precisely to avoid creating a "grey market."

I suggest you look to Ebay or Amazon (german versions) for dealers in your own country that will sell Applecare at a discount.
