Can those of us with the graphics card like GMA X3100 cards get some drivers? Seriously, I can run NO games.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

No joy as Leopard has latest drivers. Downside of buying a Mini or laptop I guess. Graphics and drives all reduced in size and performance, and done on the cheap.

Aaaand this is why I need a seperate PC for gaming even if games are mac "friendly".

Thanks apple, you can't just give us some drivers? Seriously, do WINDOWS users ever get abandoned and left in the dust? They're so greedy to force us to get new computers.

It's got nothing to do with drivers - that video card is quite simply not capable of 3D gaming... I don't care what drivers you install, you're not going to game on that card, whether it's in a Mac or a Windows notebook.

The downside of buying a machine never intended for gaming and then wanting to game on it.
I'm still playing pretty much any game I throw at my almost 4 yr old Mac notebook. Of course, I made sure I bought a machine with dedicated video and up to the task.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.

Simply a matter of assessing your needs doing your homework first!

What kind of games do you want to run? Like bobtomay stated you won't be able to run any 3D or graphic intensive games, but there are plenty of games that the GMA X3100 GPU can run.

And if you're good at searching, go to the Intel web site, search for that chipset and download their latest drivers for whichever version of Windows you're running. If you're running Snow Leopard, the latest Intel drivers are already included on the install DVD.

Regards.

They do if they buy machines with integrated graphics. If gaming is a priority, you need to buy a machine with a real GPU. The X3100, as others have mentioned, is not limited by software - it is simply not a discrete graphics part and is thus very limited in its capabilities.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
