I don't know if this goes in this forum, but not sure where else to put it. I have a Macbook Pro. Recently, I was trying to open my flash drive in finder (it has always worked perfectly), and accidently dragged it onto the desktop. When I did this, there was a little "poof of smoke" animation and it disappeared.

Ever since, if I plug in any USB device, it does not appear ANYWHERE. I can't find it. But, if I unplug it I get the "Device not ejected properly" warning, so clearly it is recognizing it.

Anyone know what I a talking about? Can anyone help me find where my USB devices are going once plugged in?

Ok so get your flash drive back on your sidebar. click on finder next to the apple, goto preferences, click on sidebar at the top of your little window and put a check next to external disks. that should get ya going.
QUOTE Thanks
