I've just got a 15" MBP with the core i7 etc.

Just wondering, is it bad to "overcharge" it, or does it have a cut-off point?

I know my dad had a laptop that he left on charge pretty much all the time and the battery was bobbins on it after that. I'm mostly using my MBP on battery but charging overnight. Is this too long to charge it though (8-9 hours?) and will it wear down the battery if it is charging for longer than needed? I heard that the MBP has a cut-off point and stops charging it when it's done, rather than emptying and refilling the battery, but don't know if this is true.

Thanks

The charge circuits will not allow the battery to be overcharged. If you use your 15" MBP on AC power for example, the battery is continuously being monitored for its charge and will automatically start and stop charging as needed.

Regards.
