HELP HELP HELP!!

I purchased a MacBook Pro on eBay a few months ago and I am quite pleased with it. The laptop did not come with any installation software when I purchased it and I knew that before I bought it. The previous owner set it all up for me and it was ready to go when I received it.

When I set up my user account I used a password that I use for my pc so that it would be easy to remember. When I attempted to install some software I was prompted to enter my account password and IT DID NOT WORK! I am concerned that I may have mistyped the password when I set up my user account and now I have NO CLUE what it could be!

How can I retrieve that password? Is it possible? ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Jaime

You're not going to be able to retrieve that password or any other without your Admin account password. What you need to do is buy an original install DVD set for your MBP or the boxed Snow Leopard set. With either you can reset the password. Contact Apple customer service, give the year, model of your MBP and ask them to send you an original install recovery DVD set. I'm not sure how much they'll charge.

Or, you can go to any Best Buy or an Apple store and purchase the Snow Leopard boxed set.

Regards.

As chscag advised get a Snow Leopard disc set. Best trouble shooting utility available.
