Okay so I have a macbook and just got a samsung monitor for it. They work fine together via DVI. But now i am trying to hook my xbox 360 to the monitor. I used a vga cable for it. The video is working fine but the audio is not. My mac shows that the line in is receiving sound but it won't output the sound. Please help! Thanks!

all other sound works fine. for example sound coming directly from the mac works but sound coming from the line in does not.

What model of MacBook? I ask because MBP's have two: input and output, while MB's have a combined line in/out. Your description is rather vague.

And you're saying sound coming from the line in, as in "input" is not working? Input is the microphone.

Open the owner's manual for the Samsung - connections section and it will provide you with a diagram indicating the port you must use for the audio in conjunction with the VGA port.
