Ok so i've got my sony bravia hooked up to my macbook pro 13" (osx 10.6) using MDP ->HDMI. Now i want to know if its possible to use the tv as a "second" monitor.

for example i could have one webpage/program/video etc. running on my tv and have the screen on my macbook doing something completely different.

I know this might be possible as my friends cousin has done this with his desktop using two separate monitors and all he had to do was move his mouse far to the right or left to switch between which screen he was controlling with his mouse. However he was doing this with a windows pc.

is this at all possible to do on a mac? If so can it be done with out buying any extra cables/splitters etc.

any input would be greatly appreciated

cheers

p.s. i tried to make this as clear as possible, if anything is not entirely clear let me know and i'll do my best to further explain it.
