I Just Got My New Powerbook!!!

hey guys, well im a switcher. Just went and bought the 1.67 ghz 15inch powerbook, with a superdrive and 1.25 gigs of ram, and all i got to say is, the box is awesome. It is truly a wonder to behold, and to think i was gonna get the sony s360 .Whahoooooo!!!!

sry what i meant is that i added a gig of ram, so thats 1.512 or around there of ram, its like super fast. I Just got to say good job to the people at apple, Their laptops rock!

Actually, it is 1.25 gb. 512 mb of ram, but 256 is soldered onto the logic board. So, 256+ 1000 = 1256, or whatever crazy number apple rounded off to.

That's just with the 12" PB's. 15" and 17" PowerBooks have one (removable) 512mb chip and one open slot standard.

Also, it's technically 1.5gb, even though it's 1536mb. One gigabyte is equal to 1024mb, so 1024/4 = 256mb, or .25gb and 1024/2 = 512mb, or .5gb.

Just a side note.

I wanted to let everyone know that best buy has a pretty good deal on pc2700 laptop memory. I got 512mb Kingston for $72 plus a $24 rebate. That comes out cheaper than newegg.

Just thought you might want to know. I may not be the only one too impatient to wait on ordering parts.

Ahh, but newegg has 1GB Kingmax sticks for $110 with $2 shipping! Thats the best. I have 2 in my 15"
