I bought this macbook pro (2007 model) from someone else. The battery only has 48 cycles on it and the battery seems to be bad already. I have attached a screenshot of the battery information. I have already tried the battery calibration. Can I get a replacement battery free of charge because of the low cycle count??

Thanks,

I doubt it. Apple considers the battery to be a consumable item and regardless of the number of cycles, it's three years old. If your machine is somehow covered by Apple care, you could always give it a try. But I'm fairly certain a new battery is going to be on you.

Regards.

Thanks for the reply. I was afraid that would be the case. Ah well, thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

And they are getting picky now - i tried that one on and first they wanted me to pay for getting the charging checked on the macbook so after 16 months and 70 cycles i ended up buying the battery myself. When u get your new one consider doing this.

Drain of battery does not depend on the number of charger.
This is due to you running out of batteries for extended periods without charging plug the back.
To use an efficient battery, charger jack best you can be anywhere anytime.
Your battery is difficult to recover.
Best to buy new batteries to replace the old.
