I heard from a friend today that the new April 2010 Macbook Pro's included a chip which meant that if you were to keep the MBP plugged into a wall, the battery would not be continuously charging and that it would stop charging once the charger light turned green, which prevented battery wear.

Can I please get a confirmation on this?

According to my limited understanding, this has been the case at least the last 3-4 years. Once the battery is charged, it stops and does not begin again until the battery is below either 94 or 96%, I forget which.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

Yep, when I check the battery status on my Macbook bought in 08 it shows as not charging at a full charge.

My 2009 13" MBP does this, so I assume the new ones do.

I believe that it won't charge if above a 94-95%. Plus, the Lipo battery is not like a traditional battery
