HELP!

I have a 13" macbook with leopard. I've synched Mail with shawmail (my internet provider is shaw), but I can only receive messages, not send them. I called shaw and we tested my internet connection and the servers/ports are correct so they couldn't help me. Any suggestions?
QUOTE Thanks
