My MacBook DVD player will play a DVD, but will stop after about 10 mins. If I take the DVD out, it will pick up and start playing where it left off. I have checked and the DVD works fine in other machines. What is going on??

Thanks!

I would suggest 2 things to try to start with.
1> Clean the laser with a good lens cleaning disc.
2> Try VLC player as your DVD player and see if the same happens. If it does then I suspect it's a hardware issue.
