everytime i download a file off the internet, it opens up in a text edit. i was wondering if anyone could help me out with this problem. i am currently trying to download windows media player so i can view emails with videos from my friends that have pc's.

You need to use a Plug In named "Flip4Mac".
Download and install by following the instructions and you will be able to view .wmv through Quicktime.
You can find it at this link:

The good news is that it is free.

You need flip for mac to view wmv files, a free download
