I've had my MBP since October, and I frequently dim the screen fully to save energy. However, I've noticed that lately the screen doesn't dim as much as it used to ... that is, I dim it until right before it goes black, and I'm looking at someone else's MBP 13", and their screen is significantly dimmer. I remember it being able to dim further.

Can't seem to get it any darker. Any thoughts?

Thoughts from here ......
Have you all system up dates and is the OS up to date?
The only thing that cracks to mind is maybe a bug. Have a far memory about this, but cant quite pick it out. But from what little memory i can pluck out, system update might fix it.

Hope it helps some and welcome

Doesn't that machine have an "auto brightness" feature? Perhaps you need to check the setting for it or turn it off completely. My understanding is that it will dim or brighten according to the surrounding light where it's being used.

Regards.

Wasn't the auto brightness feature, changed that awhile ago.

I did the system update, OSX 10.6.2 and it works like a charm now!

Thanks!
