Mac Specs: Macbook Pro 17",2.8Ghz, 500gb hdd 7200rpm, 4gb ram, Antiglare display.
can i name my mac somthing other than macuser? i have searched everywhere and cant find where to change it.. so we are clear i click on finder and in there the name of the folder that contains everthing is macuser

Go to System Preferences and then in the Accounts section click on the MacUser account and change the name.

I advise the simple (safer) way rather than the following links.
Create a new admin account with your prefered name (see create a new user account in help menu) and then get rid of your current account.

crap i have allready changed the name in my accounts but when i open finder it still shows mac user...

Have a drilled you yet about the importance of backups, not only time machine backups, but also bootable clones with CCC or SuperDuper?
