Input to output sound Macbookpro 15"

Macbookpro 13" can switch between sound input and output through 3.5mm jack. As you can read:

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009) and MacBook (13-inch, Late 2009): How to use the 3.5mm analog jack for an audio input device

1) Is there any tricks to do this on a 15" Macbookpro?

2) Is it not possible because of the hardware used in 15" ?

P.S. I want to use two output devices at the same time. I know that you can add one through USB, but I'm interested in a software sollution.

There are 2 on the 15 and 17 inch a seperate in and out both analog/digital the other
option would be firewire and usb.

I know they are seperate input and output.

But when apple can change from input two output on the 13" it is also possible to do on the 15"/17".

THE QUESTION IS HOW??
