Ok so i got my macbook pro about 3 months ago, its the newest macbook pro out yet. Apple claims to get 7hours with the better graphics cards on, and let me tell you, that is a total understatement. On my trip i got 9hours on my computer (That is without WiFi). I also tested out this new app (Battery Health Which tells you the condition that your battery is in. And funny thing is . . . My current battery capacity is higher then the factory (estimate) capacity.

Link to application download:
Battery Health

Heres my computer with 104% battery capacity

Tell me what your results are. Are macs really this pro !?!?!

I had to laugh when I read your post. I'm new to Mac's too. So when I first did my Battery conditioning, it took forever to drain it. I ran it full slam everything on, WiFi, full blown graphics and display illumination, and I got 7 hours before I drained the battery!

Yup, seems they are that good!
