sorry for asking a stupid question but are there any rumours about new ibooks coming out soon or have they been released just a bit back?

well, the current specs on the apple site are the same as the iBook I bought in December 2004...so "neW" iBooks are not out yet...

I have no idea whether the rumours are from credible sources or not...

hmmm then I shall hold off buying one ... I need a laptop but I'm not that desparate ... Can I take it that the 12" ibook is in the ultra portable class? if not exactly how bad is it to heave round?

awesome I'm looking for a replacement for my very very long in the tooth Toshiba Portege 3110ct that I got given a bit back... the only thing its good for is notepad + IM thanks for all your help people

Yea, the 12" iBook is about the same as 2 A4 binded textbooks, and I sometimes even forget it's in my rucksack!

I agree-- I carry the 12" iBook with me all the time, and it's not all that noticeable in my bag.
