my latch above the screen broke. You will need to turn your head sideways to get a idea of what the latch looks like now because I have no camera. ok this is before L then the latch broke and it looks like this l the put that hooks the screen to the base of the laptop is broke I know you can find replacements for powerbooks but I can not find them for ibooks, or if anyone has any clues to were I can make it to were my laptop will at least shut! thanks all.

check powerbookmedic.com and search for latch

also check this out http://www.wegenermedia.com/ibook2p.htm (i have never heard of this place though)

i hope im lookin at the correct parts...but it looks like it may end up being around 50 bucks...do you have applcare or is it still under warantee??? if not i think a rubber band is going to be your best bet for the $$

You can also try pbparts. I can not say the prices are good, but you should be able to get a part number.

Maybe get like a nice velcro strap to go around the front of the iBook. You'd be able to shut it tight, wouldn't have to worry about it snapping/accidently popping open and it wouldn't look too bad (maybe get a white one??).

Hope you know what I mean...

perhaps you should think about extending your warrenty, you'll have complete peice of mind that Apple will fix just about anything else you might do to your iBook, well worth the money IMO.
