horizontal green line on screen of my macbook pro..any ideas?

from top to bottom this appeared a month ago and does'nt look like its going anywhere too soon. does anyone know what and why this may be? this mac had apple care for another 6 months however i purchased it second hand and am wondering if i need to have it registered in my name if this is possible to transfer it?

osxx is offline
Not sure about the green line but mine had random green squares which Tech Tools
identified as bad logic board (vram on ATI 1600) going out.
