![]() Mac Specs: iMac g5 1.8ghz 1 gb ram iBook G4 1.2ghz 768 mb ram

I am some what new to macs and recently on my ibook, the computer will not let me edit the harddrive. for example, i cant save text edit files under the harddrive and it says something like, "is not writable", it also wont let me rename it or change the color label for the harddrive.. can someone help me make the harddrive writable? i dont know whats goin on. thanks

I am assuming you are speaking of your system disk. The first time I would do is repair permissions. Use the disk utility application which is location in the utilities folder within your application folder. After repairing permission you should be okay.
