Shut down your machine. Turn it on again. Just as it's turning on, hold down the mouse button until your disk ejects. Release the mouse button and allow your machine to continue booting.

Have been able to boot back into OS X?

If not, boot while holding down the option key until you can select the OS X partition. Then try the standard eject key.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.

If there is a tiny hole in the immediate vicinity of the slot, you might be able to force the eject by pushing the end of a paper clip wire in there. The hole used to be present on all the drives I saw a few years ago, hope for your sake that they are still there.
