My MBP's battery health just got a bit worse
I've been babying this battery like no other, but time has finally come...it just dropped 1% to a total of 99% out of 100% after being fully charged/recharged 208 times. Feels kind of weird in a bad way... I seriously was like, "what? Oh no!!"
Now, let's see if I can get another 208 cycles with while only dropping another 1% to 98% Picture 2.png

Interesting... Since I have the first uni mbp and can swap out my own battery, I'm going to dedicate this battery to a test where the ONLY way I will use it is by my method as I mentioned in my first post. I wonder how it will turn out
I tend not to look at it too often. My machine stays on mains power all day at work, when it goes home with me, I run it on battery typically for about 2-3 hours, sleep it and then plug it back in when I return to work.
On the weekends, I've been known to deep discharge it now and then, and later charge it back up. I'd say most of the time, I'm just doing partial discharges. Mine is an early 2008 model (i bought it new in March of 2008).

Yeah its a newer 15" MBP. looks like will hold out a bit before dropping a percent lol

I'm really glad you brought this up. I may start doing more consistent deep discharges to see how that effects my overall longevity.
Also, I thought the Lithium Polymer batteries were introduced with the fixed, non-swappable batteries in the later MacBook Pro. Is yours actually Lithium Polymer or the standard Lithium-Ion?

no, it's lithium polymer. It says it right on the back of the battery. I think the older gen macbooks had the ion version.
The only main difference between li-po and li-ion is that li-pos aren't just regular circular batteries put into a square shaped battery container like li-ions. Li-pos can take up pretty much any shape because it's layered into sheets, which lets it utilize the most space out of the battery compartment.
That's why almost all of the li-po batteries you see are square shaped, it's their must efficient shape.
I'm sure someone else can confirm my battery's type too, just look at the back of the battery, next to one of the logos, it will say, "Lithium Polymer", if you have the first gen uni mbp 15 that is...
My wife's MacBook on the other hand, now about 27 months old, was sitting at 103% of original the last I checked a couple of months ago.
