External hard drives
my external hard drives are taking their sweet time showing up in finder, used to it would be instant , now it takes almost a full 40 seconds to get on the system. Ideas?

How full are they? If they're nearing capacity or have big files on them, they probably would take more time to mount as the system needs to check for corruption.
