Mate cant help you with the model .... But heed warning, if you do buy it, and im sure your friend isnt there to rip you off, but MAKE sure you get the install disks that came with it. They should be grey. BC if you ever need to reinstall the OS and you dont have these you are going to fork out more $ to get another step.

Not sure bout model though. Someone will

Is a MacBook Pro ... maybe cpl years old because it has the old track pad.. Best i can do

Cheers

It has the older keyboard so it can't be 2008 or newer. Does the computer boot up? If so, in the upper LEFT hand corner you will see an Apple. Click on that and on About This Mac. That will tell you the basics and if you click More Info all the info is there.

Definitely a 2007 or earlier 15" Macbook Pro. However, the iSight does look funky.

if you have the serial number, it is much easier to find the specs.

That would also eliminate any ' guessing '

Cheers ... McBie

Would agree ... the iSight looks funny like Stretch said something may be over the iSight

Also the PowerBook G4's did not come with the IR sensor if memory serves correctly they started with the MacBook Pro's ... as well as the double latch for the screen. It is MacBook Pro.. but will not be able to tell if it is a CoreDuo or Core2Duo... gotta boot it up or check the battery bay for the specs...

like all others have said .. get the disks... if it is an older Pro ... you will probably be getting Tiger 10.4... would upgrade to Leopard.. or Snow..
