Powerbook 15 inch powerpc from 2005.
So for months now my power book would only work when plugged in, I figure the battery is dead (it lasts for 1 minute with battery power). Sometimes it won't turn on at all, even plugged in -and I have to leave it plugged in overnight till the orange light turns green for it to turn on.
NOW it doesn't turn on at all, ever. I called to replace the battery and they said if I remove the battery it should still turn on while plugged in but it doesn't. AND the pulsing little light is on which means that it is asleep it just has no juice.
Is it true that these should work without a battery, or will buying a new battery fix the problem?
QUOTE Thanks

If your laptop doesnt turn on when plugged in, that means that its not getting power to the motherboard (or battery). So in fact your battery may be fine, however, it sounds like either your power port is malfunctioning or your power adapter is shot.
