macbook pro question

I bought my new macbook pro about a month ago. Whenever I try to download a program, I get a pop-up thats says that I don't have enough access privileges. I'm the only user on this computer. Does anyone know whats going on?

Mac Specs: iMac 20" 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 4gig,Mac OS X Maverick, Macbook Intel 2gig, iPhone 3G

check system prefs, users, make sure you have admin priviledges

Mac is like a car, keep clean and up to date and it will give you many hours of good driving
