Black marks on Powerbook case

I've noticed that on the surface of my Powerbook, to the right of the trackpad and close to the edge closest to me, there are these little black marks, some specks and one line. They seem to start about a quarter of an inch from the edge, about the same distance in as the metal part of the screen is wide (the metal right above the menubar). I've rubbed and rubbed and it's not coming off, it seems like more of a tarnish than a stain of some sort. Anyone else have this problem?

You should post a picture to get a more detailed response. And are you sure you didn't do it yourself on accident without noticing ?

I have similar-sounding marks (black speckles - the silver paint has rubbed off) on my powerbook where I think i might have used an overzealous cleaning product.

I'm hedging my bets that this touchup paint will help fix it.

If you're sure you didn't do it yourself, ask apple to replace your PB.

I'll try to post a picture as soon as I can. As far as whether or not I did it, the marks are just under my wrist when I'm using the trackpad, but I don't see how my bare wrist would cause it. What would the conditions be under which Apple would replace it?

I've had it since last August. In the end, it doesn't really matter, but it is an eyesore. It's like buying a car and then noticing that it's developing scratches in the paint without explanation.

I found a site where someone was describing a similar problem. Here's the link to the site where it has a picture. My case isn't as severe as his is, but it's still annoying.
