I couldn't believe the price! It's possible that a G3 iBook may need the multi-CD version of Tiger...which I think are even harder to find. But the example I mentioned above may be a high price extreme example...but I'm going to guess a DVD of 10.4 Tiger may still run around $100. Here's an e-Bay auction example for Tiger: Software Apple Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger Upgrade NEW Black - eBay (item 190341942636 end time Oct-19-09 19:25:25 PDT) When I posted this link there was 96 minutes left in the auction, and the price was $120 dollars. It will be fun to see what it finally sells for . ![]() Please note...this auction is for the "upgrade" version of Tiger...which requires Mac OS 10.3 in order to do the upgrade. The "stand alone" full version of Tiger would probably sell for even more! - Nick - Computer slow, too many "beachballs", read this: Beachballs - Computer seems slower than it used to? I bought a 14' iBook off Ebay and was loaded with Tiger 10.4. I looked on Ebay for a retail version of Tiger in case I needed to restore but the nut cases wanted like anywhere from $120 to $240!!? I live close to an Apple store so I went and asked one of the employees if it was still possible to get a retail version and he said yes, thought it would cost around $40. I called 1-800-apple. and talked to a CSR and she said it would cost $16 plus tax(live in Cali) and shipping. They even logged the serial number of the Ibook under my name for future reference. I received the DVD in four days (they will know if you have a DVD/CD drive by the serial number but make sure to tell them in case. I believe if you have a CD drive it is two CDs

How long ago was it that you did this? I could use a copy of a retail install version of 10.4 Tiger. cameraman, for sure let us know when you did this. It would be great news for some looking for a Retail version of Tiger without getting ripped off on Ebay. Some of those prices are crazy! Are they out of their minds?
