MacBook Pro - Connecting laptop to tv, sound output problem.

Recently, the end of my headphone jack got stuck in my macbook pro, so for about a month I have had to live without sound because the computer thinks there are headphones plugged in.

I wanted to know if it is possible to connect my Macbook Pro to my tv, and have sound come out of the tv even though I don't have a working Sound Out, before I blow money on the appropriate cables needed to do so.

If it helps, I don't have a VGA port on my tv, but I do have an S-video port.
