with a powerbook I have never figured out how to use USB for boot devices.
I know folks have said its possible.. but I have not investigated it .. My suggestion is to get a cheap external enclosure firewire (20$) put your new hard drive in it .. and Use SuperDuper to clone your existing hard drive. it is very simple and straight forward to use. SuperDuper! was and I think still free to clone. then after it reboots to the external drive test every thing out .. then put it in to your PB and you are ready to go.. I know you have a diff macbook but follow the steps of cloning the HD and you should be able to get it if you are a visual learner. YouTube - Guide: How To Clone Hard Drive : For Apple MacBook / MacBook Pro Hard Drive Upgrade Using SuperDuper hope this helps. |
