I'm ready to buy a 13" Macbook but given the lack of a matte screen option, I at least want to minimize glare and reflections as much as I can. My question is which is better for that, the old MacBook White display or the MacBook Pro screen?

imho: Neither.

If you are in the minority, as I seem to be, and you have a real problem focusing on the screen when there is any sort of reflection on it, you'll not be happy with a gloss display without resigning yourself to the fact, up front, that you'll need to spend time adjusting either the screen / viewing position / sitting position / etc. when you use it.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

If you don't want screen reflections you need to upgrade to the 15" or 17" models. The older MBs never had a matte option to begin with, therefore they both are going to be reflective and cause glare issues in direct lighting.

Can't you just get a matte screen protector? NuShield makes both DayVue and AntiGlare screen protectors for MacBooks:

Nushield - Best Quality Screen Protectors

I have not bought one for my MacBook, but I used to have one for my old laptop. It was easy to install (no bubbles). It does not use adhesives, you just slide it under the bezel, and it sticks to your screen just using static cling.

I'm sure that quite a few other manufacturers also make a similar product.
