As someone who owned a PowerBook 145B with it's 2-bit LCD "glory", I can appreciate the article - and just how far we've come from the days of that PowerBook to my MacBook Pro.

As I have said here before, I still have my Powerbook 170 and it still works as new. Just the battery is LONG gone!
![]() It's a good article but they went a bit overboard on the iBook. Like some of the comments after the article, only some iBook's motherboards had issues. Also the later G4 iBooks were pretty reliable. Mine is over 4 years old now and still going strong, but mine is the last iBook G4 12" 1.33 Ghz with BT and WiFi. I still have my Blackbird 540c and I agree with their comments. Very nice notebook for it's time. It still amazes me at times for how old it is. Mine has a 117 Mhz Power PC board. Quite zippy with OS 8.1. Last edited by dtravis7; 09-24-2009 at 01:47 AM. |
